A network of churches committed to each other
River Network was formed in 2004 by churches from the London and Surrey regions who had previously been part of Cnet, a network of churches across the UK and internationally who were linked together under the leadership of Tony Morton. When Tony stepped down from leading in 2004 Cnet ceased operating as a network and a number of groups were formed on a regional basis.
The churches which now make up River Network were united in their desire to network together in the spirit of Cnet, which had operated on a relational basis summed up by its motto -
The Leaders of the churches in River Network meet regularly to encourage and share with each other. Events for training and equipping the ordinary members of the churches are also organised on a regular basis. Recently the network has completed a series of teaching sessions based on John Maxwell’s “Million Leaders Mandate” and this teaching has also been delivered to large numbers of leaders in Africa through Mission Africa, one of River Network’s associate ministries. In 2011 the network organised a weekend at High Leigh Conference Centre called “Vision2Grow”, with Louis Els from South Africa as guest speaker. This was followed up with a Network Day “Continuing2Grow” in November 2011.
